Here's what I know -- the last time I wore heels, my (bad) knees were strained so badly, I could barely walk for two days....

I'm sticking with flats.

This is why I mainly stick with flat shoes. I just have a soft spot for boots which have a bit of lift to them.

This article is good because it tells you how to deal with problems that can arise from wearing any type of shoe.

I've read quotes from Podiatrists saying that the best heel is 2 inches. It would be nice to find a wide selection of those.

And I miss my heels but I'm probably better off now not wearing them (stopped due to healing a knee injury).

Yeah some times high heels cause lots of problem but the wedge heels are nice alternate , these are very comfy and easy to maintain with them.

I love heels, and I particularly like the "platform" style...they look higher than they feel....as far as the bend of your foot goes. Of course, not all shoes of any kind are created equally....even "flats" can hurt! The trick is to TRY ON SHOES! Walk in them as you would walk in daily life....no slow walking in the store, if you walk fast everywhere else! Stroll around that store....dance in them, if that's what you'll be doing in real life!
Wedges are great to get that "heel" look, without the "heel" feel!
