Hey if you get it let us all know. I've seen professional make-up artists use them and the coverage always looks flawless. I'd be interested in something like that myself for special occassions or when I have portraits taken.
I would go with a drip in type over the pod type. The pods can clog too. I want one of my own so I can't say "buy this" But I was looking at the ones at the "paint and powder store" and these ones:
They have a 30 day trial. I like that page too because it just has a chart to give you an idea what you are paying for. You need to be able to adjust the spray for best results. Plus you can use it on your body for self tanner.
It looks interesting. How do you keep it from blowing into your eyes and hair? I think it would be fun to goof with, but I sure wouldn't want to fool with a machine every morning before work.
Its like using spray paint. It does not smoodge on like the way a brush does. It goes on so fine you just sweep and check if you need another layer. You should be able to adjust how big the spray area is.
I had a girlfriend that spent 45 minutes in makeup to take her kid to school. She used a real painter's airbrush for the foundation and they came from Harbor Freight and were real cheap and she mixed the stuff up to thin it down. She did it all in the bathroom herself. I know nothing more about it.
PS, she also put a gray streak in her hair every now and then with the same thing, and it ran on an air can.
Another question for you...how would go about picking out foundation colors? I would imagine there are stores in NYC, but I'm assuming they're probably to the trade only?
What about Airbase? The one in the YouTube video? Is that no good?
A lot of companies have a shade chart or if you call customer service and tell them what color you wear in Nars Mac etc and they can tell you what shade to match. The bottles of that brand are not bad.
Also there is the paint and powder store that you can buy stuff from: Airbrush Makeup The Paint and Powder Store
I have not used the airbase myself. I just liked the demo they did because it was a "out of the box" demo without practice. I have used that type of air gun though. The LumAir has it too. In the review I just posted on that one she talks about how she did not like the temptu either.
