For all those claiming shorts are a must in the summer heat, ever heard of the Middle East or Asia? There are plenty of people who live in climates hotter then the USA but don't wear shorts. Look at the majority of the shorts on the market, they make people look like clowns, you have the shorts that are an inch or two from being pants, or the ones that only cover half the thigh.....
Its all fun and games until someone plops out.... ••
Well, that is a very real problem, and you have a valid concern. I would appologize ahead of time. But, this makes me low class? It's not like I wear mesh tank tops and beer hats.
Not sure why it would be low class. Any clothing can be 'low class' if they're not well-kept and are full of holes and/or stains. Here in Texas, we've pushed 106 a few days. You could cook a roast in your car's back window. I'm a grown man but wear shorts every chance I get... above the knee! Some of the gals like seeing my pretty-boy legs. So there!
As for folks in the Mid-East, well, their religion dictates they have to wear a lot of coverage. I guess they can follow whatever code they like. As for over here, my dress code works for me. As a previous poster said, if U can't stand seeing a mens' bare legs, divert your eyes.

Yes, women over there are also required to wear Burkas in 110 degree heat or risk death. Yep, I'd like to adopt that way to life to avoid looking "low class."
I bet if they lift that requirement, so many women there would dress in shorts and t-shirts. As for the men: I've seen the more liberal ones in UAE wearing shorts. They'd look at you strange if you didn't. Only businessmen wore pants in summer (they looked like your run of the mill Western businessmen), or the extremely conservative types who wore religious gear. Anyone who didn't buy into the religious crap wore shorts.
