So i don't have a huge gut or anything. in fact i'm quite skinny. 6'4 175lbs. I've noticed that i don't have a 6 pack anymore (because i got lazy). When i sit down a have a roll on my stomach, never use to do that. I'm in need of a daily ab workout routine. can someone give me one that they reccomend, use, and have gotten great results from? thanks i really appreciate it.

This book will be enough to get you started on your abs.

Amazon.com: The Complete Book of Abs: Revised and Expanded Edition (9780375751431): Kurt Brungardt, Brett Brungardt: Books

I remember the first time I sat down and experienced the roll on my stomach I was mortified. There are some very good full routines in this book that I think you'll find not only challenging, but great for getting back your six pack. Worked for me.

Don't kill them too hard. Abs are a small muscle group and don't require as much effort as most people think. A basic workout of crunches, leg raises and bicycle type exercises while lying down are pretty effective.

My typical ab routine is as follows:

Usually work them after cardio (i.e., after my runs, jump rope, heavy bag or speed bag routines).
Decline situps (done on weight bench)
Decline leg raises (done on weight bench)
Side/oblique crunches
Bicycles
Knees to elbows/knees to bar - done from hanging pullup position.
Iron Board Bridge - kung fu exercise to strengthen core.
Ham raises - done while on inflated exercise ball with feet locked on bench. Ball is more under backs of my thighs than butt. Done like a GHD situp but I go all the way back until my head hits the ground, then back up to touch my toes.,

I absolutely HATE doing ab work and it shows. Everything else on me is tight and toned. Part of it is that I have a natural apple shape so that is where I carry fat, and part of it is that I HATE working my abs. (Obliques I don't mind, its everything else.) If I worked on my abs half as much as I work on my butt, it probably wouldn't be a problem anymore.

thats unhealthy. I am 5-7 and 215 and im fairly thin. Do deadlift, suitecase deadlift, squat, romanian deadlift, clean, hang clean, benchpress, military press, shrug. Thats what I do.

Also think about this. When you do the popular stomach exercises you see on TV the posas muscles do most of the work the ones that connect your thigh to your pelvis. And the stomach is just like any other muscle. Doing extremely high reps is just spinning your wheels. Its better to do things like suitecase deadlift and use high weight and low reps. But what do I know most people would rather look like a swimmer than be extremely strong.

I like the ab exercises from Men's Health. They work. Btw, has anyone tried the exercise workout from that guy named Arnel? He is from mensworkoutguide.com

worrying about being a few lbs overweight is just vanity unless you want a 6 pack and no fat at all. Its actually worse to have extremely low fat than a little too much. If you get seriously ill or severely injured you actually have a better chance of surviving if your a little overweight than if your at the ideal weight. And some studies suggest that people that are a little overweight are in better health when they get old than super skinny people.
