What are some of your approaches to natural items vs substitues?
For instance, Do any of you use the sugar substitutes (Splenda, Sweet & Low, Equal?)
Or refrain from using butter in favor of a lesser fat spread?
My thought has always been natural is already better, just use in moderation. Unless you are medically unable to take them in, it's always better to use the naturals in moderation compared to more of the fabricated stuff.
I agree. Along with just cutting things you don't need. Good coffee doesn't need a sweetener. I really wish they would stop putting all the fake chemical sweeteners in yogurts etc.
Cant replace butter..Just cant. I barely use it so I think thats o.k. for cooking instead I use olive oil or sometimes raw/steamed (best way I think based on how it makes me feel)
I think my all time favorite "no way! I cant believe it" reaction to natural products was either drinking tart cherry juice or arnica montana 30CC for joint pain.
I find that most people's bodies accept natural things with comfort.
After my cipro projectile-puke I am NEVER going with anti-biotics again unless the other option is death.
Not to mention I felt strange on a joint pain medication and just tossed it. News in the later linked it to heart damage or something. Thank god I went with my gut and just tossed it.
