I cant believe it. I have taken baby bonding time off work to take care of my daughter and have been having trouble getting to the gym. I have a fairly nice gym in my garage but havent been really working out because its been too hot for a baby there. Been in the 90s for a few weeks now.

I got on the scale and it said 172lbs. I havent been 172lbs in years. Wife says she likes me better thinner like this because my waist smaller but I still have that "V" shape. I think I feel better/stronger at around 185lbs.

All I really do is cardio in the mornings at 5:00am and maybe some yoga or taichi later in the afternoon and plyometrics occasionally at night. Havent touched a weight (barbell/dumbell) in a weeks. If I keep this up, I'll waste away.

Ive got to make some more time for weight lifting but its near impossible with a 7 month old.

Next time she takes a nap...hit the weights hard for a bit....baby's gotta sleep sometime. Then again, so do you.

WARNING: I used to be 5'9 170ish (very very fit, 6-pack abs etc) before kids....then I got fat and am on the road to recovery now (years later).
If you have to give up something, give up the weights (maybe mix in light wieghts with cardio), stay lean and mean and bulk up later when you get time. As you get older MOST guys stop talking about bulk and more about being fit and toned.

Awwww...DaBeez is a busy daddy that's adorable btw.

Anyway~ I know you love your workouts so i'm guessing working out is something you really do miss and want to get back to right? Well, consider it you time....you have to keep a balance especially when you have small kids, otherwise you'll go crazy.....take an hour every other day and just dedicate it to your workout.....even if you just do 15-20 mins of cardio and the rest weight training....at least it's enough for you to maintain.

Whenever I get too skinny, I merely raise my intake of pepperoni pizza and hamburgers. Oh wait... I haven't been "too skinny" since I was 10... probably because of the pepperoni pizza and hamburgers. :-)
