I did a couple of mystery shops at PF, pretending I was interested in joining. Yup, it's mostly cardio. But they had free weights---I think more than 50 pounds. And yes, there really is a lunk alarm! It wasn't very crowded when I went. A mixture of young, middle aged, and older people. Very low key. Clean. I love my gym too much to switch, even thought it would save me $40 a month! But for people on a budget, it serves its purpose.
what this person said. I go, b/c it's cheap and it serves it's purpose. It's more cardio than anything else, however there are some dumbells. The lunk alarm does exists, but at the location in my hometown it's seldom used. It's good for me until I graduate to the advanced level. I'm almost there, if I keep up I should be in shape this summer
Ours has a scale. It's in the men's locker room. As for the women, I'll let the women answer. As an ex-weightlifter with two herniated disks and two radically repaired shoulders, who has had a Gold's membership. I find PF quite refreshing and since I'm moved from time to time across the USA (government work), I' quite pleased I don't have to go 15 rounds with the Gold's franchise owner about transferring my membership for one state to another.
My Planet Fitness has a scale in the ladies room. I disagree about 2/3 of the equipment being strictly for cardio at my location (Houston area). There are plenty of other choices out there if you do not agree with their philosophy.
For once we agree. Going to Planet Fitness -- or any other gym -- is better than sitting on the couch.
do i know you?
