Actually, we have no idea how any other country would react and how fast they would reveal the story to the public. A good example is the ski resort in Austria where the locals kept it quiet for over a week, to keep the business going...
The Austrian media has accused Ischgl business owners of wilfully spreading the virus by prioritizing tourism takings over public health.
Nowhere "bioweapon' was mentioned by me, but, lab accident rather

Russia and the United States have followed the same path (like most countries in the world). But let's not blame Chinese and their laboratory. I know how the Washington Post, the New York Times and other Western media write about Russia and I am very skeptical about their "investigations". I think they write about China the same way. Chinese are not to blame, our special services are to blame. They work for our security (each country has its own services, but the principles are similar), they chose a tactics of combating the epidemic (they understood a possible number of victims), they knew all the necessary information about the virus and they are responsible for it. Not China, not WHO, not aliens and not reptilians. They are. No matter how our governments and their media try (or will try) to convince us otherwise.

Our special services (yours I am sure too) , as we can see, warned us several times.

Chinese, WHO are not to blame, really?

Extensive cover-up of data and information about COVID-19 launched by the Chinese government:

December 6:

A man linked to the Wuhan wildlife market experiences pneumonia-like symptoms. Five days later his wife, who had no direct connection to the market, also experienced similar symptoms, which would suggest a human-to-human spread, according to the Lancet -- a peer-reviewed medical journal

December 27:

Zhang Jixian, a doctor from Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, told health authorities that the novel disease that was then affecting some 180 patients, was caused by a new coronavirus, the South China Morning Post reported.

December 31:

The Citizen Lab at the University of Toronto discovered that Chinese authorities began censoring certain internet terms from social media, such as: Wuhan Unknown Pneumonia, SARS Variation, Wuhan Seafood Market, and other keywords that condemned the government's handling of the outbreak.

January 1:

CNN featured a story about Dr. Li Wenliang, who was one of eight doctors in Wuhan warning about the spread of the virus on social media in late December. He not only ended up contracting COVID-19 but was labeled a "rumor-mongerer" by Wuhan police, after being detained for making false statements.

He was also forced to write a self-criticism saying his warnings “had a negative impact," according to the Wall Street Journal.

January 3:

China’s top health officials at the National Health Commission follow the Hubei Health Commission and issue a gag order directing that Wuhan pneumonia samples be moved to testing facilities, or destroyed.

The National Health Commission also orders institutions not to publish any scientific information related to the virus, Caixin Global reported.

WHO HAUNTED BY JANUARY TWEET SAYING CHINA FOUND NO HUMAN TRANSMISSION OF CORONAVIRUS

January 5:

WHO releases a statement characterizing China's initial Dec. 31 notice about “pneumonia of unknown etiology.”

The agency wrote: “Based on the preliminary information from the Chinese investigation team, no evidence of significant human-to-human transmission and no health care worker infections have been reported."

January 6:

U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) offers Beijing technical expertise to help with the virus. Beijing ignores the offer for over a month, along with additional offers of assistance from Heath and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar and other senior U.S. officials, according to The New York Times.

January 14:

The chief of the WHO's emerging diseases unit reports that “it is possible that there is limited human-to-human transmission, potentially among families, but it is very clear right now that we have no sustained human-to-human transmission," Reuters reported.

The WHO also sent out a tweet claiming that Chinese authorities had conducted a preliminary investigation that found no evidence of human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus.

The Jan. 14 tweet came less than two months before WHO declared COVID-19 to be a global pandemic.

January 21:

One week later, a WHO delegation concludes a two-day field visit to Wuhan, and notes that “Data collected through detailed epidemiological investigation and through the deployment of the new test kit nationally suggests that human-to-human transmission is taking place in Wuhan.”

January 23:

Chinese authorities lock down Wuhan, after letting some five million people leave the city without any medical screening in the weeks prior, The Wall Street Journal reported.

February 6:

According to the South China Morning Post, China’s internet watchdog had tightened control over social media platforms, following President Xi Jinping's directive. Citizen journalist and former rights lawyer Chen Qiushi disappears in Wuhan after posting mobile-phone videos of packed hospitals and distraught families, according to the New York Times.

February 19:

Beijing's relationship with the American media worsens when three Wall Street Journal reporters had their press credentials revoked. The reporters covered the outbreak in Wuhan, according to the Journal.

February 26:

Li Zehua, a citizen journalist who had worked at CCTV, is detained, according to the Guardian newspaper. He records the encounter.

March 11

Researchers from the University of Southampton, in the United Kingdom, said that if Beijing responded early to the outbreak there would have been significantly fewer cases. The researchers said if Beijing responded three weeks sooner, 95 percent of its cases could have been avoided.

March 27

Bloomberg reported that thousands of urns were found at funeral homes in Wuhan, which sparked even further doubt that Beijing was providing accurate data on its death toll. Radio Free Asia reported that 40,000 may have died there compared to reports at the time of 3,200 in the entire country.

The best indication of the true CV death toll in the UK, more than 6,000 deaths more than the five year average for the corresponding week (ending April 3, 2020), the highest weekly total since the NHS began this data set in 2005. Why can't all countries provide this information?

Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Bulgaria are still largely unaffected as they don't even fall in top 100 of the most affected countries in the world. Meanwhile their neighboors: Romania, Turkey, Czechia did far worse yet in say Greece cases fall and will soon disappear it seems while in Hungary and Bulgaria there is a sudden spike as of today...will see where this will lead.

Be ready for an enormous increase in the official death total in Spain. Several regional governments have adjusted their death figures and included those in which symptoms were noted but no test was done. In the case of Catalonia this nearly doubled their reported deaths to date, and other regions report nearly equal increases. The central government, whose figures are those being posted as official on media outlets, has stated they will not change their numbers until they have analyzed the situation.

Yes, it's my IMHO. This is a random case. And I am sure that any country will hide a next outbreaks with the level of top secret. Because the reaction of the world community is very negative.

China did not hide the epidemic as it could. November is the first recorded cases of the virus with an incubation period of 5 days (average). December is an attempt to understand what is happening (pneumonia is not only new coronavirus, but many other viruses, including the flu). The end of December is official recognition of the new virus. Genome published on 12 January (this is very fast). In late January, Russia closes its land border with China. It didn't help because the virus came with air travel from Europe.

I'm not sure that we can trust this Israeli resource, but they say that special services knew about the November outbreak in Chine:

Quote:
US alerted Israel, NATO to disease outbreak in China in November — TV report
White House was reportedly not interested in the intel, but it was passed onto NATO, IDF; when it reached Israel’s Health Ministry, ‘nothing was done’

and the rest.

January 1st?

This doesn't add up, because Li Wenliang made his initial twit with warning to his friends on December 30th ( it looks like,) and was summoned by police on January 3rd.

So there is no way CNN could make a story on him on January 1st, when the "story" was not yet a "story."
So it looks like the CNN made a story on him on February 4th.

It matters, because he ( or rather the warning he made, and reaction of Chinese state machine) are key factors in the whole situation with CV.

So from this point on ( when Li Wenliang is already aware that spread of the disease is concentrated on/around Wuhan "wet market," and warns his colleagues not to go there,) to the 23rd of January ( i.e. until the outbreak is acknowledged by Chinese authorities on official level and Wuhan went under the lockdown,) - so those were the most crucial 23 days, during which the Covid was spread around the world, since 5 million people left the city before the lockdown, carrying the infection with them.

The rest is history.

OK, let me re-phrase it;
Chinese authorities finally officially acknowledged the gravity of situation and put the city on the lockdown.
(There were no 12 million people left there by then, since 5 million already left Wuhan.
Now why did they leave it - because of the spreading rumors of upcoming lockdown or the Chinese Lunar Year celebration - god knows.)

I think they left due to rumors. Many Muscovites have left the Moscow region at present. And they caused discontent among residents of other regions because they brought the virus. But we must understand that blocking a big city is also a great danger. Many people can die from declining incomes, stress, and lack of help in a panic (sick and old people).
I think these are not simple things.
