What I wrote was very clear. The problem is your comprehension.

Russia has never had such a culture since the time of the formation of Russia. But in the West and Japan, this phenomenon was very well spread and welcome in society. So which one of us is disingenuous?
The open acceptance of Gays is only a recent thing. That father of the modern computer , Alan Turing, was persecuted by the British police because he was gay. He committed suicide. Because of the top secret nature of his work in WW2, the police never knew of his role. If they did they may have left him alone.

"Americans largely think what
our government largely thinks"
(from the first post)

Are you serious???
No, the brainwashed zombies who are
tuned into their tv's constantly-
they're the ones being told what to think.
The non conformists, the people who think for themselves, the Ron Paul supporters.....
can't be included in that.

Btw, Russia is intriguing.
I've always wanted to go there.
And Putin.....doesn't just talk the talk.

The world's first electronic computer was built by the British in WW2 - it was called Colossus. It decoded the German Enigma messages - the Germans thought it was inpenetrable. For example, the British informed the Soviets of the German build up before the Battle of Kursk. Alan Turing was instrumental in the design and subsequent designs. His greatest contribution was that the computer must be represented as symbols to the user. Hence the screen you are looking at now. Without this, computers would never have taken off as they did. Early machines were a series lamps representing binary code. All input and output was in binary.

Turing worked at the British decoding centre at Bletchley Park. Engineer Tommy Flowers built the first Colossus.

Alan Turing: the enigma

If he was alive he would be 101 years old.
