Looking at those pictures of Sibiu... it's so very odd to remember how close by all of that used to be compared to how far away it feels now. If all goes to plan though I will be visiting again some time this year!

Any photos from the Black Sea.. I read about a beach with mud that people put on themselves?
There are spas on the Black Sea with special bathtubs where attendants immerse you in different types of mud--different mineral qualities to each mud.

Mogoșoaia Palace near Bucharest

Mogoșoaia Palace is situated about 10 kilometres from Bucharest, in the commune with the same name (population 5,232). It was built between 1698-1702 by Constantin Brâncoveanu in what is called the Romanian Renaissance style or Brâncovenesc style, a combination of Venetian and Ottoman elements.

Poenari Castle, Argeș County

This castle was the real one belonging to Vlad Țepeș. It dates from 14-15th centuries and is built on a high rock above the defile of Argeș River, on Transfăgărășan Road (Făgăraș Mountains)

Albina Mountain, near Poenari, from where I took the pictures above

Bear scat. Făgăraș Mountains are a kingdom of bears, perhaps 1,000 of them live here.

Limpedea Gorges, same area. Because I spent too much time taking photos, the night caught me on mountain which was very rugged and dangerous, both because of relief and bears. When the dark was complete I reached the gorges of a river later I learnt was Limpedea (a river ~ 10 km long).

The gorges were very deep, with many high (2-10 m) waterfalls and the walls almost impossible to climb. At some moment, the head-lamp felt in water and I was in total darkness, in the middle of wilderness. I saw nothing around, except the dark blue of the sky above. I succeeded to climb few meters on the slope and 1-2 m in a tree suspended above an abyss, where I spent some hours. I heard a bear walked around and other smaller animals. Fearing that if I feel asleep I will fall in abyss, I descended from tree and spent some hours on the slope and then on a rock in the river. In the morning, I walked throught the canyon some km down to the first village.

Very Beautiful photos. I had no idea about the Floreasca Skytower building. I'll make sure to take a tour there this summer.
