I could imagine to live in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia or Hungary, I actually started to learn Czech and think about relocating there for political reasons, I've never been in any of these countries though.

Hungary (Budapest)
Romania (Bucharest)
Bulgaria (Sofia)
Czech Republic(Prague)

In no particular order but all are places (cities) I could easily see myself living. Perhaps not forever but for an extended time for sure.

Although come to think of it I would probably choose Bulgaria or Romania over Hungary and Czech Republic. Because if I am in Czech/Prague I might as well live in Germany, it is close enough. Hungary, I could also do Austria then.... IDK but the other 2 are bit more further out and closer to the Black Sea, Istanbul or Greece.

So perhaps the order after all would be

Bulgaria
Romania
Hungary
Czech Republic

I choose Czech Republic, specifically southern Bohemia for its beautiful rivers with hilltop towns.

Otherwise, I would probably choose Gdansk or some other nice Polish city on the Baltic.

Hi folks.
Czech guy here.
Looking at the poll I don’t want to spoil your idealistic ideas about Cz, go to whatever place you find attractive. But if you want to move to this country in order to escape your own marxist hellholes you might be pretty disappointed with Czechia. The Czech Republic is a German-owned socialist museum where things stand still. A lot of blatant corruption, a lot of superfluous bureaucracy. The state takes pleasure in bossing people around for every little ****. There are gypsy no-go zones all across the country. Our socialist governments constantly try to inundate the country with the so-called refugees. Luckily till now they haven’t been very successful with that because the country is too poor for the coons but that might change in the future. Get ready to lower your living standards too. Czechia is Merkel’s colony number one and money flows out of the country in big numbers. For that reason your wages will always be low and working hours long. I’ve met a lot of foreigners who absolutely despised the czech nihilist and hypocritical mentality and I don’t blame them.
Now don’t get me wrong. The country isn’t Mordor. You can still have a decent life in Cz if you stick with general rules and learn to ignore certain things. The countryside is really nice and you’ll find good people too. Almost no mussies either. I just don’t want you to be too disappointed in your expectations.
I met this afrikaner man who moved from his native RSA to the Czech Republic leaving his unsaleable property behind. He told me that Czechs complain about petty things not realizing how lucky they are. That is of course an extreme case. I just fail to see why would such person choose an underdeveloped East European country over Australia or New Zealand.

I agree. I wouldn't choose Czech over Australia or New Zealand to live in either....ha.

The foreigners who move to Czech, where are they usually from? How is the expat community there? Do many locals speak English?

What are mussies? Do you mean Muslims ?

I think I was the one who picked Moldova. Chisinau is a really nice city. They speak a Romance language, which could be learned quickly by anyone fairly good at Spanish or French. It has one of the mildest climates in eastern Europe. It is probably the last one that will ever blighted by the dreaded euro. If you need to earn a living, you can run internal scams from there with impunity.

LANDSCAPE WISE: The Croatian Coast around Istria or The beautiful mountains of Transilvanya.

CITY WISE: Budapest, or Belgrade. The two coolest cities in Eastern Europe BY FAR.

I can’t give you any numbers but as far as I know most immigrants in this country are Ukrainians (since I don’t consider Slovaks to be foreigners). Also a lot of Vietnamese. Germans might be the biggest western minority but they are all but invisible in the public.
Prague is a standard international city. You’d find all sorts of people there. I suppose individual communites are organized in some way but I can’t tell you much about that – I don’t really meddle in their affairs.
Czechs traditionally suck at English and foreign languages in general. It’s the lousy educational system I assume. However many millennials lived in Britain or the US so they often speak English pretty good.
Yeah, Mussies = Muslims.
