one thing that I find interesting is the law of supply and demand doesnt apply to cds and movie tickets.if a band is very popular they can charge what ever the think their fans will pay, even if its hundreds of dollars ,and if a show is popular the station can charge more to advertise on it, but cd's and movies dont follow this law, even the most successful band doesnt charge more than a local bar band does for one of its cd's but why not if the band is popular why cant they let the market decide on the price, the same for movie tickets,if people really like a movie they'll be willing to pay much more for a ticket.

They do. In Los Angeles today for the new movie "Creed," evening show, $15.50 weekday, $18.50 weekend---in Manhattan it's $18.59 weekday, $22.59 weekend.

Then there are the "luxury" theaters like Cinepolis, that serve alcohol and food, at $19.00 to $24.00 and up, drinks not included (and they're expensive) and tipping the waiter that brings them to your seat not included either. Easy to spend $100 for the total package for two.

I saw it at our local theater for the standard $5.50 each (7 days a week, up until 6 pm) and paid $5 for a med popcorn, soda and a candy. Long Island, NY, mom and pop theater.
