Vice President Cheney yesterday said he would probably support Bush for president.
No, not that Bush. During a wide-ranging discussion on Neil Cavuto’s FOX News program, the newly-talkative former veep said he liked George’s brother.
“I like Jeb,” he told Cavuto. “I think he’s a good man. I’d like to see him continue to say involved politically.”
“For president?” Cavuto asked.
“I’d probably support him for president,” he responded, quickly noting that he wasn’t endorsing anyone.
While I personally have no real opinion of Jeb as either a politician or as a person, I can not see America voting another Bush into office.
Over the past 8 years, the name "Bush" has become associated with so much hatred and damage to America's standing in the world, that having another "President Bush" would likely bring on even more anger from the rest of the world, especially from mid-eastern countries.
I believe if Jeb were to run, you can almost guarantee the exact same batch of Neo-Cons would return to the White House, and their aggressive, bullying, "pre-emptive attack" policies would return once again.
When the 2008 election was over, you could almost detect a "sigh of relief" from everyone around the world, that the Bush years were finally over.
People all around the world were cheering.
Would anyone now want to see another Bush in the White House ?
Can you imagine? George HW Bush became VP in 1981. Bill Clinton President in 1993. There would be a Clinton or Bush in or very close to the WH for 35 consecutive years.
We wonder why problems in this country appear over and over again.
