It's a first lady faux pas -- wearing expensive, high-fashion French designer sneakers to a food bank.

Michelle Obama wore the sneakers, made by Lanvin, while helping feed the poor at a Washington food bank on Wednesday. The pricetag on the footwear? A cool $540.

I guess she should have stopped at Dollar General and bought some $10 shoes????

I know the left was absolutely looney with all the crap they criticized Bush about for 8 years, but there is no need to duplicate it for the next 4-8 years with Obama. It probably will go on anyway...

No, I don't think going to the dollar store sets a good example either. She could have worn a good pair of American made shoes that might have cost $50-$100.

Look at it as economic stimulation.

Honestly - are we truly going to criticize someone for what they wore while helping the needy? Does anyone think that a person who is being given food is going to give a rat's patoot about what kind of shoes she is wearing? Or even recognize the brand and know how much they cost?

Laura Bush used to wear some very nice duds and no one ever picked on her for it (nor should they have). How about we treat Michelle Obama the same way?

of course we are .. I wonder how old the stupid shoes were .. MAYBE they were her old shoes she had before she became first lady .. yanno that does happen .. I am sure she didnt just go buy them for this public apperance with the poor ..
yanno this is just stupid of the media to find fault with a pair of shoes that Mrs O had for how long? besides is it really our business? AND mebbe Faux news should do a little history research and look up the costs of Nancy Reagens dress's or Jackie Kennedys or some of the other first ladies .. I'm just glad to see Mrs O out in public doing her job !.. Our first lady is a true volunteer
oh boy I can see it coming from all the BHO haters pack .. ::runs ::

Laura Bush didn't wear a weeks salary worth of sneakers to feed the poor.

But on the other hand, Palin was talked about her expensive clothes by the Left.

BTW...I wear my 3-4 years old Nike's when I help out at the Soup Kitchen each month.
