The media you listen to, the ones that help you draw conclusions is misguiding you again. Virtually nothing he said suggests supporting Bush policy on Gitmo, in fact, quite the opposite, including:
- humane treatment of prisoners based on treaty obligation (read: NOT torture).
- figuring out HOW TO close it (read: NOT keep it open)

Both of these spell "responsibility", which was far from being a Bush policy.

Pardon me, but did you read this article?

The first sentence of the article says:

Attorney General-designate Eric Holder said Thursday that the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will be closed after President-elect Obama takes office, but not as soon as the administration would like.

So, the title of this thread is not only wrong, it claims the exact opposite of what Holder actually said. Holder did not say Gitmo will "stay open" he said it will, indeed, be closed. "Taking more time" is not the same as reversing course.

If you don't win the election the first time by distorting try, try again until they reverse it and you win.

OP poster loses all credibility ...being unable to read and comprehend one's own link is bad enough...but it would be nice if blatant lies used as titles could be banned here.

You guys can spin yourselves dizzy but the fact remains Obama is now saying Gitmo will stay open. Even Bush wanted to close it. . . Obama and his followers are finding real life a little more difficult to deal with than campaign platitudes.

And I agree with Obama in that keeping it open is the right thing to do.

Please post some proof that Obama has stated that keeping Guantanamo open is "the right thing to do".

Please post proof(ya know, like in FACTS) that Obama said it would stay open.....lies prove nothing.

Obama order to close Gitmo will be fast act

Thorny task: Advisers say president-elect seeks to issue order as early as Jan. 20, but quick action on detainees is unlikely.

What planet does the OP live on? I'm guessing that, from the comprehension level shown in the thread title, and the two posts made by them, that it's somewhere around first grade. Maybe...
