ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss has won re-election in a runoff, dashing Democratic hopes of capturing enough Senate seats to thwart Republican filibusters. Chambliss, who fell just short of the majority vote needed to win re-election in November, prevailed in a one-on-one rematch with Democrat Jim Martin.

Hooray, America will live to fight illegal alien amnesty 4 more years . . .

Not that it makes any difference....GOP and Democrats are becoming more and more similar.

I am sorry, as much as I disagree with Obama on his view of socialism for the U.S.... Chambliss victory is meaningless... Have you EVER heard of every single Republican voting EXACTLY the same on each bill? No? Its because there will ALWAYS be several Republicans that vote FOR liberal agendas as there ARE several Democrats that will vote for neoconservative agendas... so Chambliss victory is hollow... they only need a couple Republicans to cross and that is as easy as pie... I don't like it very much but that is what happens in real life... take the bailout bill... a lot of Republicans voted for it and several voted against it... a lot of Democrats voted for it and several voted against it... you will always see a split in Republicans/Democrats in how they vote... We should all be VERY, VERY scared my friends... or should I say my comrades..

I see that the right-wingnuts have successfully screwed you up. You should really open your eyes and objectively re-evaluate things - you'll feel much better . . .

Gov. Sarah Palin is putting her conservative Republican fame to work in Georgia, stumping for Republican U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, who is in a tough runoff for re-election.

Chambliss is exactly the kind of Republican that needs to go away if the GOP ever wants to even dream of becoming a shadow of their former selves.
