False hope. Lincoln picking Andrew Johnson didn't help any with the divisions back then.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. When he was heading up the Harvard Law Review he picked almost all republicans to head up the board (much to the dismay of his democratic friends). But thats his style..if they have good ideas (even if different from his own), are likeable, and he can work with them, then he probably will.
