I couldn't find the thread from earlier entitled "post your election predictions here", so I figured I would post what I believe is an accurate prediction.

First, take a look at the RealClearPolitics election map (which is the most accurate, IMO):

RealClearPolitics - Electoral Map

Now, the toss-up states are Arizona, Montana, North Dakota, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. I already tested it, and it is mathematically impossible for McCain to win, but I still enjoy predicting..

Anyways, on with the show:

Arizona - Early voters from the states metropolitan areas put Obama in a close race with McCain. However, as the rest of the state votes, McCain will probably take it.

Montana
- Admittedly a bit more difficult to read, Montana will probably be a marginal victory for McCain. As with Arizona, early voters probably influenced Obama's gains here.

North Dakota
- Obama will probably pick up this state. The Democrats have fared well in ND these past few years, and I believe they have already put Democrats in Congress as well.

Missouri - Obama, no contest. The Central and Southern regions of the state will probably show some Red, however.

Indiana - Sort of an unpredictable state, Indiana hasn't done as poorly as its neighbors and is definately within McCain's reach.

Ohio - Also unpredictable. I suspect it will go for Obama, but it will be a close race. Remember that Ohio hasn't done particularly well, and is constantly noted for typical Rust Belt decay.

Florida - Definitely Obama. No need to explain this one.

Georgia - Early voters in this states metro probably influenced Obama's gains. Georgia will probably go for McCain, however. I strongly suspect in 2012 Georgia will go Blue (as Atlanta overpowers the state in population).

North Carolina - Has done better than any state in the US, especially in the past decade. Rapid growth an industrialization would make it a prime Republican haven, but Obama has a better chance because of his popularity with urban voters. However, as before earlier voters played a huge role in this state, anything can happen.

Now, on to waiting patiently for this all to be over with!
