Dozens Of Call Center Workers Walk Off Job In Protest Rather Than Read McCain Script Attacking Obama
By Greg Sargent - October 27, 2008, 5:18PM
Some three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.
Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."

It may also be that people have a little credibility and just can’t continue to bring themselves down to this level anymore. They see McCain for what he is.
so mccain is a phone spammer. the democrats have sent people to my front door and sent out millions of environment destroying flyers. we won't need to save the rain forest, because there won't be one left after this election.
The point isn't whether or not people are phone spammers or door-to-door political salesmen. The point is that the McCain campaign's telemarketing script was so ethically vile that even people who needed the money walked out on their jobs instead of reading it.
Do you have any idea how bad something has to smell before people leave a paycheck behind to get away from it? Especially in this economy?
I supported McCain in 2000 and even donated money to him before and after his campaign.
This is not the same man. This campaign is despicable.
