In her "major policy address" this morning on special needs kids, Sarah Palin said that her and Todd are "no longer afraid of Trig". Uh, huh. FTW?

Somehow a mother's fear of her own "disabled" chld is different than Michelle Obama's "really proud of my country". Another example of the SCLM giving a right wing hack a pass on her words.

Perhaps she meant...
"I'm no longer afraid that Trig will take up too much of my time and get in the way of my ego trip..."

That could be it. Poor little guy doesn't seem to take up any of her time, does he?

Okay, this is interesting. This is a lik to a Fox News blog reporting on this speech. Below the fold it actually defends Obama and points out where Palin flip-flopped on repudiating partisan attacks!

Okay, it's not a blatant defense. But it's there.

Well to ne fair and I don't like her at all. I was a foster parent and I had several Premature babies. When you have a child born early I had to come to the hospital and train to care for the child. Parents of premies are sometimes fearful of their child. It isn't fear of them but caring for them and being good at it. I;m not sure what she went. I do know how this could be misunderstood as he is so young and in the last what 7 weeks she has paraded him around. I know parents with children born of special needs and they live there lifes but they are even afraid to go anywhere with there child. Not because they are ashamed because they are so afraid something will happen. These parents are usually going to Doctors and getting started with Early On and I know that Early Intervention on working with children makes a huge difference. He is now getting to a point where he would start noticing people and things that are the same, smiling and all that. He has been everywhere and I just was thinking I saw her the other day holding him while bending over talking to people and it is getting to be Flu season. Every place they go it is hot or cold. I know kids with Downs have hearing issues, hear issues and eye issues. I'm sure he is getting looked at but I do feel sorry for this child who is everywhere but never home.

Does this mean that she isn't concerned that he is possessed by the devil anymore?

afraid? I would like to know what she meant exactly. How could a mother say such a thing? My son has autism and I have never once been afraid of him. Afraid for him? Yes.. as in will he be okay? I want to know what she meant!! How careless!
