Three weeks is not a long time at all and with Obama having a 9 or 10 point lead nationally in some polls and healthy leads in the battleground states, McCain's hopes for being president are nearly impossible. Only major events can alter the poll numbers dramatically in a short period of time like the current economic crisis did. Or major mistakes made by the candidate. Obama has pretty much been flawless in avoiding major mistakes and as long as the ecnomic crisis is in the news headlines, McCain has no hopes of catching up. Next week, it will be two weeks to go and if the polls still show Obama has momentum and is still gaining, its pretty much over for McCain because unless a major event or gaff happens, polls dont turn around like that in a two week period.

I don't know, McCain keeps dipping to the lowest common denominator. It might just work out for him here...

I still have faith that there are some rational thinkers in the American public.
