That movement comes, in part, from gains Mr. McCain has made on personal leadership attributes.

Washington Post/ABC poll, for example :
McCain who would be a better commander in chief (he's now ahead by 45 points).

He is also seen as the stronger leader, and as the more honest and trustworthy candidate.

Meanwhile, Mr. Obama saw his lead on who would "bring needed change" drop by 20 points.

The same survey found that 48% of Americans consider Mr. Obama unqualified for the presidency, virtually unchanged from 46% in March and June.

asked voters whom they would ask for advice for the toughest decision in their life, voters favored Mr. McCain by a 50% to 34% margin.

Sen. Joe Biden doesn't reinforce, but instead conflicts with, Mr. Obama's change message.

It's also possible that the do-nothing Congress is dragging down the Democrats' brand.

but because Mr. Obama ran on "turning the page" on "old politics," he suffers more than Mr. McCain, especially since his attacks are more fundamentally unfair.

That he is in fact winning the contest for the most negative campaign could well spell his defeat.

he's been in Washington for 25+ years, never held a job outside of the gov't, historically votes against veterans, historically sides with deregulation insiders that brought us the housing, bank, and insurance crisis, claims he has conservative values while cheating on his wife, marries a drug addict (since reformed), hides his adopted black child ("That was all Cindy's doing, I had nothing to do with that") from everyone like a plague, endorses advertisements that are proven blatant lies then continues to endorse them, can't remember who we are even fighting in the so important "war on terror", picks a no name VP under investigation for abuse of power/corruption with a short history filled with many questionable actions and employ's 50+ lobbyists that he claim's to be against while they all have direct ties to current scandals and down turn of America.

You're right, Obama should stop attacking McCain.

From who? "I hear" usually comes before a misleading or false statement. Who did you "hear" it from that everyone else doesn't seem to be hearing it from?

I could care less about personal attacks, I think it's unfair tactics and shows the immature side of either party and the people they choose to represent them. It all comes down to who we think should lead our country without taxing the crap out of us for all the new programs they want to start.
