CNN: Alaska has the highest rate of sexually transmitted disease (school, state)

Help me out here, if alaska is so small how can they have the highes rate of sexual transmitted diseases? Secondly why is Pallin against sex ed in school if this is true? weird

Highest rate would indicate x number of cases per x number of people, so the population is moot. Example, 1 in 100 would be higher than 1 in 1000, regardless of the population. Maybe they could drop some condoms from the planes they are shooting wolves from....

Actually Alaska is our largest state, it isn't small.

The rate of STD's is meaning the % of the population, not at all related to actual population.

Looks like one sick puppy from San Francisco went north for a vacation and found him a male harp seal to molest. The rest is history, he told his friends back home in SF how great the harp seal was.

Naw, you can get BC at free or reduced rates at every public health clinic in the state, far as I could tell from living there. And condoms at the grocery store, etc. The state is more urban than people expect it to be.

(My kids went to the public health nurse to get immunized. The nurse kept a BIG basket of "Free to Good Home" condoms on her desk.)

I'd never heard that we had a huge rate of STDs, however, but nobody I knew up there slept around like a sailor on liberty, either.

I'd be interested to see some documentation.
