Wait, Palin is being heralded for increasing taxes on oil companies. Isn't that what Obama wants to do and the opposite of what McCain wants?

Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska's Legislature last year approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry -- a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared.

I'll make oil companies like Exxon pay a tax on their windfall profits, and we'll use the money to help families pay for their skyrocketing energy costs and other bills," the Illinois senator said.

Duhhhhhhh sounds like she and Obama are on the same page. Teeeee Heeeee

The centerpiece of Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) tax plan is two huge tax cuts for American
corporations. As president, McCain would cut the corporate tax rate from 35 percent
to 25 percent and allow corporations to deduct immediately all of their investments
in equipment and technology. Reducing the corporate tax rate alone would deliver a $3.8 billion tax cut to the five largest American oil companies, according to a Center for American Progress Action Fund analysis of those companies’ financial statements.

Wow. Guess this won't be a necessary topic in the Palin/Biden debates, huh?

Biden: So you agree with our policy on windfall profit taxes?
Palin: Why yes, yes I do.

Moderator:......um...Ok. (earpiece - what just happened here?)

This is amazing, simply amazing. Was this another impulsive decision without thinking or didn't they connect the dots? Can you see this in a campaign spot during the convention?

This proves McCain is a Maverick, he picked someone who challenges his own policies.

Not for the oil companies getting profits! Maybe the rest of the country should do the same instead of raising the tax on gas/oil for private citizens, make the oil companies pay the tax! She's got it right!

Sounds like Palin is a Socialist. But since she is getting her OTJ from father McFlop I'm sure she'll be able to downplay this.

Hmmmm but McCain is deadly against the windfall profit tax. Obama wants to tax and use the money to give a $1,000 energy rebate. This keeps the funding in place for roads and road repair. She and Obama are identical.
