Gallup Daily: Obama Stretches Lead to 8 Points
Gallup has measured the convention bounce for candidates in previous years by comparing the last poll conducted entirely before the convention began with the first poll conducted entirely after the convention concludes. That historical calculation is complicated this year by the intense media focus on McCain's selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate on Friday, and the increasing focus on next week's Republican National Convention.

McCain has clearly tried to blunt the full measuring of the convention and for Gallup there will only be any day that measures the full impact of the convention without any impact of Palin. Today Saturday is the first day to measure the full impact of the convention but it will also include the first day of the Palin selection since it was early in the day. Will all be interesting the battle of the polls right now.

Im pro obama but the 8 points wont last trust me, republican national convention will trim this down.

However im looking the polls at the states that do matter Obama has to just win the dem states and colorado now or any state with 9 electric collages and he wins

McCain would have made extremely hard if he chose Romey because of michigan.

But McCain greatly despises him and he has a temper so this was a emotional decision not a smart one.

Palin undermined his main attacks on Obama on inexperience

I don't usually care about polls, but this will be an interesting week to watch the Gallup.
