Presidential Swing States (FL, OH & PA) Poll * July 31, 2008 * Obama Tour Doesn't Help In Flo - Quinnipiac University

Nah! Really? Why would voters in FL, OH and PA not appreciate the stagecraft and visuals in germany?

Quote:
With likely voters concerned more about energy than the war in Iraq, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's recent tour apparently didn't help, as Arizona Sen. John McCain gained on the Democratic front- runner in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to simultaneous Quinnipiac University Swing State polls released today.

Florida and Ohio are now too close to call. No one has been elected President since 1960 without taking two of these three largest swing states in the Electoral College. Results from the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University polls show:

Florida: Obama has 46 percent to McCain's 44 percent, compared to a 47 - 43 percent Obama lead June 18;

Ohio: Obama has 46 percent to McCain's 44 percent, compared to a 48 - 42 percent Obama lead least time;

Pennsylvania: Obama leads McCain 49 - 42 percent, compared to 52 - 40 percent.
Quote:
But by margins of 10 to 20 percentage points, voters in each state support McCain's plan to keep U.S. troops in Iraq with no fixed date for full withdrawal, rather than Obama's plan to set a fixed timetable for withdrawal.
Quote:
By margins of 27 to 30 percentage points, voters in each state say Congress should agree with President George W. Bush and allow offshore drilling for oil. Sen. McCain supports offshore drilling, while Sen. Obama opposes it.
This is a WINNING issue for the GOP; Run with it guys!!

Let me get this straight..you're thrilled about 3 polls which show McCain trailing in all of them, most notably Florida and Ohio?

from your poll

best way to address the energy crisis

Florida

Renewable energy sources-51%
Drilling offshore and in Alaska-22%

Pa.

Renewable energy sources-55%
Drilling offshore and in Alaska-18%

Ohio

Renewable energy sources-57%
Drilling offshore and in Alaska-20%

Looks to me like that issue might not turn out to be quite the winner you think.

BTW, Exxon today is reporting second quarter earnings of 11 1/2 billion..the largest quarterly earnings ever. That works out to nearly $1500 per second.

Iraq-stay until stable/no fixed date vs Immediate withdrawal/18 months

FL 59-39
OH 57-37
PA 52-42

Financial situation

Getting ahead/holding steady

FL 76%
OH 74%
PA 75%

What a disconnect there!

Quote:
17. To help solve the energy crisis and make America less dependent on foreign oil, do you support or oppose - Drilling for new oil supplies in currently protected areas off shore?
FL 60-36 FOR
OH 64-31 FOR
PA 64-30 FOR

Quote:
Voters support 53 - 42 percent drilling for oil in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge

obama is polling way below a generic democrat.

Unfortunately, we don't have the party affiliation for these polls, but I would bet you they favor a democrat.

As you must be aware, during the primaries obama often polled higher than the actual vote total.

Exxon's profit is only 8% of there revenue. Not a high profit margin by any means.
