RealClearPolitics - Articles - McCain's Remarks on Iraq and Afghanistan

Clearly, this is a WINNING issue for McCain.

Obama cannot run from the fact that if the US would have followed his faulty judgement and strategy, we would have suffered a huge defeat to AQ and Iran and the rest of the bad guys around the world.

The guy is a clueless neophyte with dangerous ideas that come straight from the failed policies and ideas of the kook-left.

McCain advocated for the surge when NO ONE else would touch it politically. He pushed it, he hammered it, he staked his political viability on it.

THAT IS LEADERSHIP WE CAN "BELIEVE" IN.

Lets see, we are losing in Afganistan, most Iraqiis want us out of their country, and most Americans want our troops to come home yet McSame wants us in there for 100 years. And McSame wants us to stay the course. Great leadership.

We are not losing in Afghanistan. Have we left, have we been driven out? Don't you think they (the bad guys) will fight? Do you think they will just lay down and surrender? This is a war. Gosh, you whining, hand-wringing liberals really need to wean yourself from the left-wing talking points.

Iraq doesn't want us out. They want agreements on security, infrastructure, economic, that kind of stuff.

Do yourself a favor, actually LISTEN to the whole tape where McCain talks about the "100" years and try to understand the context in which he refers to.

I don't care what McCain's context was. I don't want to stay in Iraq for 100 days if it can be helped--let alone pick another fight with Iran (and Russia, to boot).

That's all the Republican party knows is war, diplomacy is a word they don't know the meaning of. It's all about kill, kill ,kill, destroy, destroy, destroy, and they don't even know why they're doing it.

There would be nothing wrong with it if the killers only killed each other or themselves. Feel free to do so.

Exactly. Nothing wrong at all with killing the bad guys.

Isn't that what a military is for afterall? . To kill and break the stuff of the enemy?

As we can see, there's no shortage of people who are still developmentally stuck in the nursery.

Really have you ever read a history book?

WWI President Wilson a Democrat led the US to join this war
WWII President FDR another Democrat led us into another fine war
Korean War President Truman yet again a Democrat got us into yet another war but it was okay because a fine Republican President Eisenhower brought our troops home
Vietnam I'll give you one guess and yes it was a Democrat President JFK followed by President LBJ another Democrat and once again it took a fine Republican President Nixon to get us out of that mess and bring our troops home.
We could bring up Somalia and President Clinton and his mess on that one or JFK screwing up the Bay of Pigs. Was it not Carter who led a failed mission of soldiers into Iran to get the US Embassy hostages? Then Reagan took the oath of office and moments later they were all released. Reagan tore down a wall and ended a cold war without firing a single weapon. How many did JFK lose during The Bay of Pigs trying to accomplish what Reagan did without bullets or lose of life. Over the course of American History the democrat's have done more destruction and lost at least 50x's more life than any Republican.
Yes those war mongering Republicans how we hate them so and it is all BUSH's fault. What will you lefties do without President Bush to blame all your screw-up’s on?
