If Obama does pick a female running mate, it'll likely be Kate McCaskill. She basically won the nominatoin for him by hepling him win the Missouri primary -- the only "swing state" Obama carried.

I've said before I thing he will pick Richardson as well. He would help with the Hispanic vote as well as potentially putting NM in Obama's column, which he would like to win.

Yes. And he could put NM in Obama's column. One of the objectives of picking a governor for VP is the hope that would bring along a "swing" state, which NM is this year.
