Well it's pretty much over for Hillary in that case. All these so called "Hillary" states seem to start out with her having a 10+ point lead. As the Caucus/Primary draws closer, the points disappear. Obama winds up either winning the state or the delegates. Hillary needs to go. But if you are a Republian, obviously you are rooting for her to stay in. She is not exactly a great spokesperson for unity or the Democratic party in general, especially to independent voters.

On this mornings news.....

• ABC News' Political Radar blog -- Clinton told Richardson that Obama "cannot win:" As she tried to talk New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson out of endorsing Sen. Barack Obama's presidential bid, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton insisted that Obama cannot beat Republican Sen. John McCain in the fall. "He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win," Clinton told the governor, "sources with direct knowledge of the conversation" have told ABC's George Stephanopoulos. Richardson went ahead and endorsed Obama -- a decision that appears to have enraged former president Bill Clinton, The San Francisco Chronicle reports. Richardson served in Clinton's cabinet.

• USA TODAY -- North Carolina's May 6 primary could settle the Democratic race: "I really believe May 6 has the potential to be everything," says Joe Trippi, a strategist for the presidential bids of former North Carolina senator John Edwards this year and Howard Dean in 2004. "Every day you see increased pressure on Hillary Clinton about why she's staying in, and if she could win in North Carolina it would shut down that kind of talk and open up the possibility she could get there" to the nomination. "But if he wins in North Carolina," Trippi says of Obama, "I think you're going to see things close up very quickly. You'll see a lot of superdelegates line up behind him." Obama is leading in North Carolina polls.

North Carolina is the last state that has over 100 delegates. It almost equals Pennsylvania in delegates. I think it will be the final showdown. Obama is currently leading in the North Carolina polls despite the growing Hispanic population and despite the loss of traditional working class jobs (textiles, tobacco, furniture). Whoever wins North Carolina will come out with enough momentum to sway the super delegates their way.

current North Carolina polls

Obama 52%
Hillary 38%
