I think this in unprecedented in American presidential campaigns.

Imagine ... a former Republican president declaring his support for the Democratic presidential candidate!

You don't understand at all.

If Bush publicly endorsed Clinton it would cause a lot of friction within the GOP. Additionally, Bush is a lifelong Republican and so the act of endorsing a democrat would be seen as duplicitous by the republican organization. That's why Bush has tried to say so little, thus far.

Barbara's statements about Trump are real. She was terribly offended at his comments to Megyn Kelly on FOX when he asserted that "Kelly had blood coming out her you-know-where". Barbara didn't buy the nuanced idea that maybe Trump just spoke to quickly. She interpreted what he said almost instantly as a comment on menstruation and the way it allegedly was affecting Kelly. No one should imagine when a former first lady is quoted in this fashion that she is not only speaking for herself, but for her husband as well. These people are very conscious how their statements are construed. Its generally why former presidents and their family are reluctant to say much about politics.

I guess we can imagine that the Kennedy girl just made this whole thing up. I think its strains credulity to imagine she would have just pulled this out of thin air. However, let's say that she did. One would expect a statement from George H. W. Bush repudiating any such comment.

Bush did not make such a comment. We can go analyzing this thing forever. There is no absolutely clear answer unless Bush does endorse Clinton prior to Election Day. I have my answer. I guess you have yours.

I've heard rumors that Laura Bush is going to come out in favor of Hillary.

Anyone else have information on that?

Just one person, but a big name showing party disunity.
