Calling Newt Gingrich a neocon suggests a level of ideological consistency that ain't there.

The Necon platform only has two planks, War and Big Govt. to support it. Everything else is superfluous.

No - it also has NAFTA and is for unlimited illegal immigration because it's also for dirt cheap labor for huge profits for a few CEO's. Very much like the liberals in fact.

Again, the same could be said of the current administration.

LIberals were not in favor of NAFTA. Liberals only represent probably 40% of the Democratic party. Clinton supported Nafta. I am a liberal and I never supported NAFTA. I don't know any liberals that did.

Well all i can say to that is that we are not in Iran. Everything else has been dissappointing. Bolton would advocate for the invasion of Iran.

Hillary also supported it as does Obama who has even expanded it in spite of high joblessness in this country. Bill and Hillary and Obama are all about as liberal as they come.

Possibly. I'd argue saying we are not yet in Iran would be more intellectually honest. This administration is no less eager to engage us in military action than was the previous administration.

In point of fact, much as I disliked Bush, he at least had the decency to obtain congressional authorization for his military actions. The same can not be said of Obama.

There is not a nickel's worth of difference between the corrupt representatives of either party.

I was in my teens when it passed -- too young to really have a strong opinion on it. As a liberal now, I hate NAFTA. I would repeal yesterday if I could.

This is a dilution of neoconservative thought ("Big Govt." is extremely vague and can mean lots of different things, such as a security/police state, a strong safety net, or the nationalization of private industry), and by this rubric, the vast majority of our politicians are neoconservative.
