Oh oh..that's pretty bad.

Rick Perry turns down Donald Trump debate - Maggie Haberman - POLITICO.com

Quote:
Governor Perry has talked to Donald Trump in recent days and respects him and the folks at NewsMax very much. There two debates in the next 7 days.

Traditional retail campaigning in the days and weeks leading up to the Iowa caucus is the Perry campaign's top priority. In the coming weeks, Gov. Perry will be in Iowa almost continually, meeting with real voters, doing town hall meetings and events and talking American jobs, faith and overhauling Washington, DC to Iowa voters.

So we have respectfully declined the invitation for the December 27th debate.

Ouch.

For Trump, I mean.

Is the Donald going to call Slick Rick a "joke candidate who has no chance to win" too?

I think it actually makes Gingrich look worse than Trump.

This is too sweet

Now all that's left of this whole affair are just two of the most-outspoken goofballs on the right and a nobody...but I guess according to Trump Newt and Santorum were the only ones who had a chance.

I expected as much ... Perry was flirting with the idea of staying out of the rest of the debates after his epic fails in the last couple anyway.

I figured he would jump on any viable opportunity to be able to stay out of any debate so he can keep from sticking his foot in his mouth, the fact that so many of the candidates have already followed Dr. Paul's lead, thats all the excuse he needs to bow out.
