I think that the GOP thinks he's dangerous, because he differs from the party base. I think that the DP thinks he's dangerous because he differs from the GOP base and may be able to challenge Obama.
I think this shows that any of those seeking the nomination have a very good chance of winning the election. It just shows how fed up people are of Obama and his failed policies.
Ron Paul would definitely be somebody I would support if he were to win the GOP nomination. I can't say that I agree with him on everything he says ... but his basic stance on reducing the size of the federal government and pulling out of all these ridiculous foreign conflicts is becoming increasingly popular among the general public, even among some moderate Democrats! The borrow and spend policies of both Bush and Obama are why we are in such a mess in the first place.
Unfortunately for Paul, he stands little chance of getting the GOP nomination. He would have too many conflicts with the rank and file Republicans. I think he would do best to run as an independent or Libertarian in the general election. He may not win, but a large percentage of votes would likely go in his favor because he is a populist candidate, much like Ross Perot was in the '90s.
