Democratic State Sen. Dave Hansen Wins First Wisconsin Recall Election

Awww, too bad for those who were trying to call the recall elections off early.

Quote:
“Sen. Hansen’s victory is a validation of the lengths he and the rest of the ‘Wisconsin 14’ went to in their efforts to stall the Wisconsin GOP’s extreme right-wing, anti-working family agenda,” said Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Executive Director Michael Sargeant. “His constituents understand that he fights for them, not for extreme ideologues."
Just the start too.

ive spent lots of time in wisconsin, as i reside in mn. i know a lot about the political environment.

minnesota and wisconsin are 2 similar states in terms of political mindset, wisconsin is a little more conservative.

i think this idiot walker though is the dems best friend, and id be surprised if the republicans hold the house.

Maybe not strong Dem, but the Extreme Right clearly hit a nerve with some.

Hopefully the republicans will learn from this in 2012, especially in the presidential election, sadly I got a feeling they wont though.
I blame the "tea party" for that.

Seems like the republican candidate's personal issues did not help him either

Throughout the campaign, VanderLeest was dogged by questions about his legal and personal troubles. He has $25,000 in unpaid property taxes and a history of domestic abuse.

About 15 years or so ago, the GOP decided to embrace the nutjobs of the "religious right." That element is now destrotying their viability as a major political party. I have a feeling 2012 is going to be a serious downer for them. And they'll probably have a hard time recovering.

Scott Walker and the Republicans treat Wisconsin as if it were Arizona as opposed to what it really is.
