New York State (NY) Poll * September 22, 2010 * Paladino Trails Cuomo By 6 Poi - Quinnipiac University – Hamden, Connecticut

Quote:
Republican Carl Paladino, aided by a 4 -1 margin among Tea Partiers, trails New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic candidate for Governor, 49 - 43 percent among likely voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Cuomo leads 87 - 8 percent among Democrats while Paladino leads 83 - 13 percent among Republicans and 49 - 43 percent among independent voters, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University survey, conducted by live interviewers, finds.
Paladino is going after Cuomo big time, tying Andy to the subprime mortgage mess, due to Andy's management at HUD.

Andy's lead is steadily eroding.

Quote:
This week Paladino wrote Cuomo, the son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo: "For the first time in your life be a man. Don't hide behind daddy's coattails even though he pulled strings to advance your career every step of your way. Come out and debate like a man."
Seems like Cuomo is hemming and hawing about having a debate. Coward.

I'm still flabbergasted; 6 points, in freakin NY!

This is truly amazing....especially given the fact that Cuomo was considered a sure-in just a few weeks ago.

I love Paladino. He is outspoken and real...very refreshing qualities. Best of luck to him.

That could be one of the problems - a sense of entitlement for a career politician who rode his daddy's coattails into politics.

Interesting. Your usual gold standard of polls, Rasmussen, released one on the NY gubernatorial race a couple days ago which shows Cuomo 16 points up..

Election 2010: New York Governor - Rasmussen Reports™

Something you very conveniently failed to mention..

I just heard that Mayor Bloomberg endorsed Cuomo. No surprise, an elitist supporting the elite. I disagree with everything Bloomberg says and does. He is one of my most disliked politicians of all time.

Right...that's why I included the RCP link and said his numbers are steadily eroded......or did you conveniently forget to read that part of the post?

Btw; 16 points in NY?

I'm calling bs, considering how Democratic NY is, to have breakouts like this, the sample is EXTREMELY Republican. Not to mention women are always more likely to vote then men and this shows the opposite. Not a chance.
