That is why I said AT LEAST and did not say ONLY. Also, read a few more posts before you quote someone. I was disputing someone's post that you don't need air conditioning at all.

Need and want are two very different words. I certainly survived the summer without air conditioning, and it's cool now - and only Sept, no way would someone NEED air conditioning now. I did have my windows open and use fans but partly because we spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors.

swamp coolers or refrigerated air--both of them are equal from what i've been told. Swam coolers dont cool that great on humid days, but there are also times that refrig air doesnt work that great either. Some people install both so they have adequate cooling whatever the humidity is.

I know property tax is high but in tx you dont have to file & pay a state income tax yearly so it helps compensate for the high property taxes. In elp the cost of homes is a lot cheaper than some other states so you get more for your money.

lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry but one actually cools while the other just makes the environment wet to act as a coolant. In no way are they remotely equal. Refrigerated air will work in any conditions so long as it's installed properly. Swamp Coolers only work in certain regions of the country.

Humidity seems to be rising in the area, that's why swamp coolers are becoming useless. If it rains a lot on some days, it's literally like east Texas, except worse because of higher temperature.
