Well lets put it this way, there is two drug cartels in Juarez that are currently fighting over turff, so its pretty high.

Crooked cops, then there is the constant flow of people from lower Mexico that come up here hoping for a chance to work in one of the many plants, or a mule to get them across. They live in cardboard houses, or houses made from old pallets. There is said to be 2-3 million people just across the stream..

I can ask a El Paso PD friend of mine, and see what he has to say.. but really there is no way to be sure. we know they dug 100+ bodies up recently last year near a church. And another 20 or so women from all around the area.

So I would say its pretty bad. but considering there is 2 million, and if only 2000 murders occure a year. thats only what 1% so it looks great on paper, or on a site like this one it would appear rather low.

Juarez dosent have very many murders for having over a million people and for being Juarez and all. Most American cities its size have double that and for El Paso thats hard to believe that a city of that size only had 14 murders,I just dont get it.

You forget thats reported murders.. live here and you'll understand. Mexico is not known for its superior law enforcement, or keeping well documented documents. =)

Unless you lived here back in the 1970's when notorious serial killer Henry Lee Lucas was lurking in El Paso and bodies were being dug up out in the desert....

El Paso, like so many other cities in America, has seen its share of runaways in recent years. With drugs and broken homes, the promise of excitement to be found in other cities, other states, uncounted teens have fled their homes and schools to search for fame and fortune on the road. A few make good, some wander back in time, but nearly all leave tokens of themselves behind, some indication of their motive for departure.
