Can anyone recommend a good sushi place in El Paso? Any one of these owned by Japanese folks? Obviously when eating raw fish, cleanliness is of the essence - which joint is the nicest/cleanest?

They may sell it fresh somewhere, but you could probably find Mexican food in Tokyo too, if you know what I mean.

If you want authentic sushi try Matsuharu in the Northeast. It's where all my old Japanese bosses used to go.

Sounds good. I lived in a few places where we had top of the line sushi and now my standards are a bit higher. I also had the misfortune to eat in a place where I found a hair in the rice - does not exactly inspire confidence when eating raw fish. Over the years I realized that sushi places owned/run by authentic Japanese are usually clean and good...

Have tried Dragonfly and Koi (off of Mesa). DragonFly is great, a bit pricey. Decor isn't anything special, but food is fantastic.
