Does anybody know if CVS/Pharmacy is coming to El Paso or Southern New Mexico and if so where the locations are planned to be?

I have not heard anything. Not likely since Walgreens and Walmart are rampant in the area.

Perhaps CVS is going to affiliate with an established store like Sav On with Albertsons.

Well competition is always a good thing for the consumer, but CVS is almost interchangeable with Walgreens, so nothing to get excited about.

We have about 200+ in the Houston area to counter the 200+ Walgreens stores. Lately they are across the street from each other. About the only things that make them very different from each other are the big red letters, even the buildings are the same just about. One will have cheap ice cream for sale, the other two 2 Litre Cokes for a buck fifty. CVS tends to have things just a little cheaper, but not everything.

But yeah, they are the same; not good if you are a Walgreens franchise owner, they just dilute the profit for everyone since they offer the same things. On the other hand, they will keep Walgreens in check. Good old fashion competition, not a bad thing for El Paso at all.

There is a CVS currently under construction in Las Cruces on Main Street, near the junction of I-25.

.

There is a CVS very close by where I live near Dallas,
so I go there fairly often.

Be sure to get a CVS card and use the coupon machine in the store.

I also bought one of those 99 cent 'green leaf' tags CVS sells and it
has also saved me money.

CVS scans the green leaf tag [max once per day] and gives you a
25 cent credit in place of a plastic bag. When the 25 cent credits
add up to $1, you get a $1 extrabuck on your receipt.

Supposedly CVS is coming to EP. Would be interesting to see if they will bring along their Speciality Pharmacy. Currently there is really only two actual home infusion pharmacies in El Paso since Walgreens/Options Care went bye-bye.
