Is it me or does it seem as if the quality of HS teachers nowadays have gone down the drain. First it was Debra Lafave....then Kristy Sanchez-Trjillo....then Angelica Rangel.... and now Brittni Colleps. I know I'm missing a few others but these names are just a few.
I think people need to remind themselves that every time they think there's MORE crime or teacher sex or whatever...recall, please, that this is an age of information...all this stuff has been going on for hundreds of years, but you didn't hear about it. Period. The world is not 'getting worse' or 'going to hell;' we just get to hear about every little thing that happens. That makes it sound like it's happening with more frequency.
She's not even hot... what are these kids thinking?
When you're that age and male, adequate and willing is often good enough. The part of the anatomy above the shoulders is not always operating at full capacity.
When I was in high school 46 years ago, I knew girls who would sit up front in class in short skirts wearing......well....nothing. Maybe you know what I mean. They finally gave up on their quest to get the male teacher to flinch, or look at them, or whatever. Apparently he let nothing faze him.
But I'm sure he had stories in the faculty room, and I'm sure that other male teachers thought to themselves, "Why not me, Lord, why not me?"
I'm not sure what all this means..... but it brought back my memories from high school 45 years ago.

But what I remember from highschool was that the girls weren't that hard to get busy with. Why bother with the teachers?
Reported incidents of teacher-student sex cases are becoming more and more common. Shoop said that these cases are probably the tip of the iceberg in regards to the number of cases; however, no national studies exist to discuss how prevalent a problem it truly is. Yet, he said the scandal is comparable in magnitude to (but has been overshadowed by) the incidents of alleged abuse committed by priests in the Catholic Church.
"In the last five years, there have been hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of cases of children or adults who are reporting things that happened when they were a child," Shoop said. "There were almost no reports of those events during the time that children actually were abused."
"The same thing's happening in schools -- there's a proliferation of reporting right now," he continued. "You can hardly go a day without reading in some community some child is now bringing a case against a teacher for sexual exploitation."
Shoop said there is some belief that reports of abuse are becoming more frequent because of the publicity and the likelihood that they will be believed.
