Many would argue that if the banks are not going to be honest then why should we?

Because we're better than them. It feels good to do the right thing.

It's that value system that got them where they are. They love nothing better than honest serfs who play by the rules. They just conveniently exclude themselves from doing the same and then preach, "Do as I say, not as I do."

I fail to understand how what this guy is doing is any different (in terms of economic impact on the public at large) than a general strike for higher wages. Don't both rob money from the public fund in lost productivity? In fact, the few pennies gunner is refusing to pay back is a drop compared to the trillions the bank execs took from us and never paid back, using it instead to stuff their pockets with billions in bonuses---of our money. Morally, ethically, financially, economically, societally, etc I really don't see the difference.

I don't really see how the executive leadership of a bank has much impact on your decision to use a credit card and possibly STEAL the goods and services that have been charged on it.
That's 100% correct - it is stealing. Use whatever weak excuse you need to to rationalize your own irresponsible behavior, but in the end, if you willingly choose to default on an agreement you made, then you ARE a deadbeat and a thief, and IMHO, a loser. If you are indeed 65 years old, than you should do the right thing and pay the bill off, which is what us grown-ups do.

Because you're rolling it over on those of us who DO PAY OUR DEBTS.

He also needs to take some spelling lessons. Personally, I think he's just a troll who's full of crap who's just trying to yank our chains and get us going. He's just the lowest form of pond scum lifeform on the planet. He needs to get out of his parents basement and get a job.

I can hear my mother saying "now son, two wrongs don't make a right".
God rest her soul.
