By the way, anybody remember Freindster?
Or, AOL. LOL. I hate AOL because it introduced stupid people and old folks to the Internet en masse. *le sigh*

I wish they had a "basic requirements" exam like they do for cars so we can weed out some folks.

I was never into MySpace, it was too garish and I thought it was only for those who had nothing better to do with their time and were too insecure so they had to create fancy webpages to show how awesomely cool they are!
Facebook I like much better, it has a cleaner look and it's nice to keep in touch with friends/family that are not easily geographically accessible.

Facebook does seem to be all the rage and Twitter is catching on like crazy too. Ditto on the "I don't get Twitter" comment. That's way too much time on your hands IMO. But hey, look at us CD posters.

Why not! I was not surprise to hear about it. With every new website this is a failing one. Americans are prone to change regardless if a product or service continues to give them what they need or not.

Call it what you want and say what you will, but between Facebook, Twitter, Blackberry Messenger, and City Data, I have made some really great friends that otherwise I may have never gotten to know.

I think there's a difference between CD forums (and similar forums) and those sites, since CD is actually helpful to people. The internet has always had, beyond email, message forums like this (usenet). It was the second thing (I'm aware of) that appeared for communicating over the internet with other people.
