So not all news is bad and maybe we should focus on good news as well, so people can stay optimistic!

I know for sure that in 2 years we will hear about people who started something in 2008 or 2009 and made huge money...that happens all the time, while others are focussing on just bad news!

Yeah, they said times like this are when some of the best businesses are born.
I'd like to see it. Our country needs it instead of all these damn bailouts going on right and left.

The McDonald's market in my state is pretty much flooded, unless you can stand out in some kind of way.
At this point, I'm hoping McDonald's will call back.

When you open more "McDonalds" that is NOT great news.... its like saying, we opened more homeless shelters, YIPPEE, more low income people to hire to staff it to address the needs of the poor... Now if you said more manufacturing jobs are made which pay a minimum of $25 an hour, that is something to celebrate... not when you open more minimum wage jobs at a loss of higher pay jobs... not "hooray" at all...

Aspiring burger flippers, rejoice!

Still, it's pretty welcoming. A lower standard of living should benefit lower end stores like Costco, McD's, etc.

This isnt good news.

This means that people cant afford more healthy food and are risking their health due to not being able to afford healthier alternatives.

Yes, this means more jobs but in the long run, this isnt good.

Actually, it is not a good news!
...People are unable to afford the expensive restaurants and this is the reason why "McBurger" is picking up the business!
It is just like Walmart! When the economy is going down south, they prefer a cheaper one like Walmart rather than a more expensive one on the Fifth Avenue, New York City!

Cheap eats do really well in a bad economy.

Anyone ever seen a new Harde's open? I have not...

Of course there will be people and businesses who make money in a recession.

I don't really see high sales for McD as being a good thing. It's junk no one should be eating- very expensive in the long run.

I like to see good news. However, McDonald's good news is probably bad news for a lot of other slightly upmarket chains? I imagine they are getting a lot of business from former customers of the other chains. Just a hunch?
