I'm currently a teller at a big national bank in VA. I'm planning to move to Louisville eventually. My current bank aint there so i'll be looking for a new job. Louisville has quite a number of small banks that seem like good places to work. I'm wondering if anyone has worked for a small and big bank can tell me what the differences will be and which one is better. Right now, i'm leaning small banks.

Well, I have never worked in the banking business but I have done business with both. I have actually liked doing business better with the larger national banks, such as JP Morgan Chase. I have had a few issues with Bank of America, so I will not do business with them. But, otherwise I have never had problems with the larger banks.

I enjoy doing business with my local bank also though, so it's really just your choice. Many of the smaller banks are being bought out by larger national banks anyway, as you probably know.

I worked at a small bank for a little while.

What specific questions do you have?

Big Bank and Small Bank's have just as many similarities as they do differences.

At the pretty much entry level employment stuff like teller the only thing that matters is pay and benefits...
