Can you collect unemployment benefits when on strike? (workers, qualify)

I was curious and thought i would ask other people if they know or been through it... the web is sending mixed signals saying you can apply but you don't qualify? Then what is the point of applying?

No expert but I recall once here when the compant locked out workers when neggoiations broke down they did get it. But when they walked out and coukd return as individaul workers thyey didn't. Probably varies by state law. Of course that was in the 60's.
