Wow, no more Merrill! I know shareholders should be happy that a deal of $29/share was reached, but still... Honestly, Stan O'Neal should be drawn and quartered for taking Merrill Lynch down this path of self-destruction!

Although this is better for the markets short term, its a bit creepy that B of A is getting so big. I suppose this one the fed/government only has one hand to feed.

BOA was rated last year as the third largest company in the world. It has managed integration of many firms since it started its big growth (was NCNB regional bank less than twenty years ago).

Merrill employees and shareholders have fared much better than Lehmann's.
