Thanks for the good entertaining material here. I'm sure hoping the little spaceship to take the doomsday cult away doesn't come soon, who would we be entertained by in this little forum world of ours?
Always entertaining to hear people predict the end of the US economy. If you can predict the future so well, how come you aren't already ridiculously rich?
It is interesting as the economic recovery continues the determined naysayers continue to get boxed in more and more on what economic factors are allowed to be used to determine its state. The same people who would point at the BLS unemployment numbers and wail in 2009 and 2010 are now focused on gallup. If gallup improves I'm sure we'll have some further narrowing of the collapse parameters.
This isn't the politics forum, please keep the kneejerk "go team!" braindead political finger pointing confined to that loony bin.
Spare me! Did you even bother to read the article the OP posted?
First line:
Quote:
"When Barack Obama, the Federal Reserve and the mainstream media tell us that we are in the middle of an economic recovery, is that supposed to be some kind of sick joke?..."
There is no Law of Economics that states that if your GDP is $14 Trillion you must have 99.9% of the labor pool employed.
With this statement, you have exposed the crux of the matter. You seem to be unaware that there are legitimate, respected economists who believe the GDP as an economic measure is outdated and irrelevant and too simplistic for the times. A high unemployment rate due to the reasons we now have (as opposed to the reasons in the Great Depression) is indeed an indicator savvy economists cannot ignore.
Your statement only works if the operative definition of "economy" is GDP. Old definitions, like other old things, do not hold water.
The system is not a failure. There are ways to adjust our system. That means the people running the system are at fault, not the system. Only a closed system can be at fault. In other words only a system that doesn't allow for changes can be at fault. If people can make changes to the system then they are at fault.
I agree with that our system did not do this;or even wall street. It took a conpairacy of milions to do what has been done. The problem is now milions want to claim they were dumb or fooled. They were conning themselves ;which is much different from dumb.

Sorry, should have qualified that: our politically corrupt system is at fault
