My male boxer is one year old, today he met my sons girlfriends dog who was in heat well they spent about 2 hours playing at the dog park today and I had to take him home to get him away from her. well now he is howling, crying, panting, and whipering. I dont know what to do with him. he is not acting like himself at all. he has been away from her for about 5hours now but he is still acting like this. what is wrong with him?

Well....he probably wants her lol

And that was pretty stupid of your sons girlfriend to bring her dog to a dogpark when she's in heat.

Why isn't you male fixed? Or if he is, it will pass off sooner or later.

You guys set yourself up for this. Both dogs should be fixed. He's horny, that's what's wrong with him. Ever seen young men in a bar? Pretty much the same thing.

Get both dogs fixed, wait a month for the hormones to pass through their system then let them play together.

Unless you are going to stud him out I'd be getting him neutered real quick. A dog in heat should never be taken out in public; that is looking for problems and if the female is not going to be doing breeding, she should be fixed also. It will pass with you're boy lol but he'll be a pain in the a** for a bit.

Horndog, no doubt.
For what it's worth, when I adopted a supposedly 13-year-old spayed female (and she turned out to be about nine and went into heat) my two fixed seniors still went all spastic, like sweaty teenagers.
My fixed male beagle/basset didn't even notice Miss Thing. There was no food involved.

Some of the dog parks have rules on prohibiting bringing dogs who are in heat. Some are monitored, some are not but its a big no-no for being a dog park visitor!
