I wondered about that picture too. I don't know if they call it something different in Aus. but that snake looks nothing like an American copperhead.
The Australian copperheads are in a different family than the American species. The pictures of them definitely look different. (Google'd it, I'm not a herpetologist - yeah, googled that too!)
I'm glad my labs only retrieve tennis balls, socks, remote controls, bread products and an occasional mouse!
