A woman from Oakland was driving through our area on highway 299 on the 19th of March, she had an accident and her two dogs got loose and she had to be hospitalized. This is a wonderful story of the two dogs being lost and reunited and returned home.
I probably should have said more about the story. The owner is hospitalized in the Bay area and the dogs were lost in the rugged mountains of northern California about 350 miles north of Oakland. The 2 dogs were found by a homeless man who gave the smaller dog to a friend. That friend tied the dog up with a T shirt and the dog got loose and was found roaming the streets of Willow Creek. He was rescued and his tag was read, it was found out that he was one of two dogs that had been lost and the other one was suspected of being in a bad situation due to the fact the two dogs were inseparable. The first homeless person was found and he had to be persuaded to give up the second dog. The two dogs are united again and have been returned home to Oakland to their owners home. The dogs are very lucky, 299 is a busy mountain highway surrounded by national parks and forests, a dog could get lost forever or drown in one of the many rivers and never be found.
